01Origin and story
Introduced in 1921, N°5 broke with literal flower scents through Ernest Beaux’s abstract aldehydic bouquet. Its numbered name and modern bottle became enduring design codes.
How it evolved
N°5 expanded into Eau de Toilette, the 1986 Eau de Parfum, Eau Première and L’Eau. Each edition adjusts transparency and modernity while preserving the abstract aldehydic-floral identity.
Why it matters
